Gravatars Anyone?

Good news! Gravatar or Globally Recognized Avatar has recently launched its version two. Though it's only on beta, the functionalities are already working. This means, your comments will not go faceless again. *smiles*

Before I give you the tutorial, I want to show you what a gravatar looks like. Here it is.

So, do they look familiar? *smiles*

Here's a tutorial on how to add a gravatar.

1. Go to http://site.gravatar.com/, then click the Signup link located on the upper-left of your browser.
2. Enter your e-mail address. Now, make sure that the e-mail address you use here is the one your using for posting or else your gravatar won't show.
3. A confirmation or activation email will be sent to you, so check your email.
4. When you receive the email, click the link below the text that says, "To activate your account, simply click on the link below or paste into the url field on your favorite browser:"
5. Once clicked, you will then be redirected to a page which says, "Your account account has been activated." Then look for the login link.
6. Enter your e-mail address (the one you activated) and your password. This will be the password for your Gravatar account. Make sure that it's different from your e-mail password.
7. A newsletter subscription page will come up. Now, it's up to you if you want to subscribe or not. You have to choose to proceed.
8. After that, you will see a page which says, "You have no gravatars, add a new one." Then, click that link.
9. You will now be given an option to upload an image. The best option would be to upload it from your computer. To do this, click the link that says, "My computer's hard drive"
10. Browse through your computer and choose an image for your gravatar. Then click "Next". Make sure that the image you upload is larger than 80 x 80 pixels. Don't ask me why. It's their requirement.
11. Adjust the size of the image by using the slider. Choose the best portion of the image by dragging it. Once you are satisfied, click the "Crop" button then wait.
12. Choose a rating (G, PG, R and X) for your gravatar and click the appropiate rating. People usually chooses "G".
13. Hover your mouse over your newly created gravatar and click it. Wait for a while then click the "Confirm" button.
14. That's it. It may take a while, 10 mins or less, for your gravatar to appear on all your posted comments so please be patient.
