Last Saturday, my Pangga and I watched the movie Letters from Iwo Jima at Glorietta since it was only shown there and in Greenbelt. It was a good movie told from the standpoint of the Japanese soldiers who were stationed to defend the island of Iwo Jima at that time. It's pretty interesting because of the different characters in the story. Like the General who had an ingenuous approach of defending the island. And the baker turned soldier who never resorted to honorably killing himself but instead finding a way to be alive so he could be with his family once the war is over. And the character I came to respect most was the Lieutenant who had issued an order to take care of the American soldier they shot and was able to capture. He said that even though the American soldier was an enemy, he should be taken cared of because that is what he would expect if the situation was reversed. And just like reading a book, there was something that had struck my mind from that movie. It was from the letter of the American soldier's mother, it said "Do what is right because it is right".

After the movie, Pangga and I loitered a bit in Greenbelt and checked where we could possibly eat dinner. I was thinking of eating somewhere inexpesive since Pangga had already bought a book for me and was the one who paid for the movie. I was also thinking of going home early because he had work the next day. When I voiced out my concern, he told me it was his rest day the next day so it was okay for us to stay up late. And that he also said that he wanted to eat something grilled. Since restaurants who offer grilled foods are pretty pricey, I asked him if we have a budget for it. He said yes and so off we go to Jerry's Grill. We ordered grilled squid (yummy!!!), his favorite pork sisig, molo soup (i like Pangga's version better) and seafood rice. I was so happy because we got to spend quality time with each other although I know we can do it better even without spending much.

I had such a nice day. Good movie, good food and being with the one you love, ah, what else could a simple girl like me ask for? :)
