A day at Salcedo Market
Recently my neney wrote about “Fun things to do this weekend†and guess what? That’s exactly what we did.
Last Saturday we decided to visit this place they called Salcedo Market. At first, I thought it was just another mall or the usual supermarket like SM or Rustans—I was wrong. It was a little past eight in the morning when we arrived there and the place was already jam-packed. From what I’ve heard, people all over Luzon willingly come here just to buy from this place. I wouldn’t mind coming here either even if I come from Laguna or Batangas because prices are really very very low.
You can buy anything from a variety of fresh produce: fruits, vegetables and other organic products. You can also buy flowers, orchids and other decorative plants. There are also all kinds of meat products: wagyu beef, lechon (chicken, pork and beef), steak and ham. Likewise, it would not be complete without seafood: shrimps, prawns, lobsters and all kinds of fish.

Restaurants were also all over the place so you really won’t go hungry. Options were not limited to our very own filipino food but from a variety of continental cuisine as well. Though neney and I settled for bagnet and callos, we really like to try other cuisine next time.
Aside from the food, the place was also selling paintings and other artwork. There’s also entertainment like the ati-atihan which my neney liked a lot. *smiles*
Salacedo Market is located at the center of the residential area on Salcedo village. It opens as early as seven in the morning and ends at four in the afternoon. So if you have time to spare every Saturday morning, it’s time for you to relax and enjoy the food the place has to offer.
