3-Day Visit

Last weekend my whole family came over for a visit. My parents stayed overnight but my siblings just went home today.

It was a pretty busy weekend for the four of us (Mark, Josh, Joan and I). We spent the whole day of Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the mall. And every day, we would be compalining that our feet hurts. But we have enjoyed it anyway.

On Friday, we went shopping for a washing machine since I realized that Pangga and I have a really hard time having our clothes sent to a laundry shop (he’s kinda lazy to do that stuff, wala na kasi Weng’s Laundry). At first I was like, “Ma which is better, the American Home or the 3D?”. Then the sales lady would say, “Ma’am this one’s better ’cause it’s more roomier and yada-yada”. My mom and I would speak in Ilocano (in whispers) and agree that what the saleslady was trying to sell was, “Di met nga namayat” (Hindi naman maganda). :) So after checking all the washing machine I told my mom that I’ll think about it first and decide a little later if I should buy already. We then went to Bacolod Chicken Inasal (for a merienda only) where we were given a treat by Pangga. We ordered molo, batchoy, puto, adobo pandesal, iced tea and hot tea since it was meryenda time. My brother got a kick from the place mat because of the ilonngo words written on it. Then my parents went to shop some from the SM Department store and I on the other hand was contemplating. After they have finish their shopping, I told my Mom that I’m going to buy the washing machine because of dire need. So we went down to the basement and asked Pangga to help me choose what to buy. He gladly helped but was kinda irritated because I wanted to bring it home then. What’s good with Pangga was that he was patient in explaining to me that we cannot bring it home by taxi ’cause it wouldn’t fit inside. And the probability of getting a taxi at that time was close to none. The best way he said was to have it delivered home. I’ve thought about it hard and considered the suggestion, seeing there’s no better way than have it delivered home, I conceded. After that we went home, where all of us were tired but it was fun being with my family (sleeping in one room).

Next day (Saturday), Pangga was the first one who was up. and I was like “is it morning already?”. My Dad was actually waiting for us to be up so he could try our DSL. :) Pangga went to the market to buy some stuff for breakfast. I lazed a bit and told him to call me when it’s time to cook. Our breakfast was good, we had eggplant omelet, Pangga’s specialty - hotdog with onions, and scrambled eggs and sinangag. A simple breakfast but it was yummy. Afterwards, Josh went upstairs to continue with his net browsing. We had a little chat then followed Josh upstairs. At 12 noon, we went out of the house to go to SM North EDSA. We rode the MRT and it was my Dad’s first to ride. I forgot to ask him how the ride was after because we were already hungry then. We went to eat at Max’s. Dad’s treat for the main course and then Pangga and I chipped in. :) Then we went to canvas for some laptops because Dad was planning to buy one. They also bought an external hard drive for Mom so that her school files won’t be erased again accidentally by Dad. Then before long it’s already 7pm and my parents need to go back home to the province. They couldn’t stay for another night because Dad had to serve the next day at church. My parent’s took a cab going to Monumento and the four of us (Pangga, Josh, Joan and I) were left to go home to Boni.

It was again a very tiresome day but was happy to have Pangga there because he was very understanding and supportive to my family.

On Sunday, we went to Megamall again and bought Joan’s school things. Josh went to find the stress balls he wanted and Pangga went to play at Timezone. When Joan and I were done in buying her school stuff. We went to check out Booksale and I got to buy Close encounters of the Third kind for 20 bucks and a book for fashion merchandizing for 30 bucks. I’m elated. ;) Then we went to search for Pangga at Timezone and wait for Josh. When met up, we had our pics taken from a pic booth at Timezone, was perrtttyy good. :) Since it was early for us to go home, we decided to watch Spiderman 3. It was okay. Well, Joan cried when Harry died. Oops… sorry for the spoiler. :) And another day has gone by.

Josh and Joan went home today and I’m missing them already. Pangga and I went to drop them off at the bus station. It was unfortunate for Joan’s plastic cover for her notebooks and books to be forgotten at the bus when they arrived home as Joan recounted to me this afternoon. She earlier forgot it in my room and then when they were boarding the bus I almost forgot that I was holding it. Anyway, what matters is that they have arrived home safely.
